SVP - Lead Technical Product Owner (Corporate/Data Domain)
Singapore, SG
BUILD MARKETS. SHAPE ECONOMIES.
At SGX Group, we create markets. We turn ideas into products and expand access to new opportunities. We are building the future of the exchange in-house: from architecture and platforms to the critical systems that power markets. The biggest decisions are still open to people who join us now.
The opportunity
As Technical Product Owner Lead (Corporate/Data Domain), you will build and lead a team that takes initiatives from problem definition to production outcome. Working closely with the Business, engineering, data, and vendors, you will turn user and business problems into measurable product outcomes, shape scope, and drive decisions rather than escalate them.
The challenge is to combine strong product judgement with enough technical depth to earn the trust of experienced engineers. You will need to make trade-offs across user value, commercial priorities, regulation, technical feasibility, and delivery, while using evidence rather than opinion to decide what happens next.
There are strong foundations to build on, and a significant amount still to do. Product and SDLC practices are still evolving, particularly as AI changes how discovery, prototyping, and specification are done. If you want to inherit a finished product organisation, this is not that one yet. It will suit someone who wants to shape both the work and the practice around it.
The Technical Product Owner team
Technical Product Owner connects business problems with technical delivery. The team works across product, engineering, data, and external vendors to define outcomes, shape scope, and give delivery teams the clarity they need to act.
The capability is being built across several domains. The next phase is about strengthening evidence-based product decisions, measurable outcomes, continuous discovery, and the use of AI to test ideas before engineering invests heavily.
This is a partnership role where you will work closely with business and engineering to achieve meaningful outcomes for our stakeholders within short timeframes.
What you will do
Shape the right problem
- Build a deep understanding of the products in your domain, including user experience, technical architecture and data flows, and contribute to the domain’s long-term technology roadmap.
- Partner with the Business to define north-star metric and supporting KPIs, and work with engineering and data teams to make those outcomes observable.
- Turn underlying business and user problems into the artefacts teams need to act, from requirements and acceptance criteria to prototypes and AI-assisted product specifications.
Drive the product outcome
- Co-own the product roadmap with the Business, keeping it aligned with company goals, user needs, regulatory context, technical feasibility, cyber risk, and the wider domain portfolio.
- Prioritise based on evidence of user impact and business value, and make trade-offs explicit across scope, timeline, resources, build versus buy, and quick win versus durable fix.
- Work with software vendors to shape their roadmaps and support SGX Group's ambitions, rather than accepting the product as given.
Build the practice
- Create and lead a high-performing team of Technical Product Owners and, where relevant, business analysts, strengthening their understanding of the market, customer needs and platform capabilities.
- Use AI agents to accelerate discovery, prototyping, specification, and validation before engineering invests time.
- Strengthen product and SDLC practice across the organisation, communicate product direction, metrics and progress, and help your team build consensus around priorities, trade-offs and uncertainty.
What we are looking for
Essentials
- At least 10 years of experience across product management, product ownership, business analysis, engineering, or related roles with significant product responsibility.
- Experience leading complex products and teams, with accountability for outcomes rather than backlog administration.
- Strong product judgement: sharp problem framing, disciplined scope, evidence-based prioritisation, and comfort making decisions under ambiguity.
- Technical fluency, including the ability to read code, reason about APIs, data flows and architecture, and evaluate engineering trade-offs with senior technical teams.
- Hands-on experience using AI agents to prototype, specify, or validate ideas, not only to summarise documents.
- Strong communication and stakeholder leadership across business and technology, including in regulated and multi-stakeholder environments.
- You should be comfortable using product analytics, prototyping, and AI-assisted delivery tools. The specific toolset will evolve over time but should be aligned across TPO domains.
- For data-focused products, you should bring strong data know-how, specifically in designing, mapping, and optimizing end-to-end data flows and pipelines. This includes experience working with data platforms, data contracts, data models, governance frameworks, analytics, and data-driven product decision making.
What may set you apart
- You have owned products against commercial, customer, or operational outcomes, not only delivery milestones.
- You bring experience in capital-markets, market infrastructure, cash equities, derivatives, data platforms, corporate platforms, or trading platforms.
- You have helped establish or improve product and SDLC practices in an organisation where the operating model was still maturing.
- A degree in a relevant field is useful. Equivalent practical experience is valued just as highly.
Why this role matters
- You will work on products and platforms that sit inside critical market infrastructure, where product decisions have direct consequences for the business, its customers, and the markets it serves.
- The mandate goes beyond managing a backlog. You will shape how problems are framed, how outcomes are measured, and how business and Technology make decisions together. This is a uniqute role where you can build a team, influence the operating model, and change how products move from idea to production.
