As a multi-asset exchange, we cover all major asset classes in the Asian time zone. The focus lies in growing volume, innovating new products and serving customers worldwide to deliver the best possible client experience.

The Equities Business is responsible for two of SGX’s core revenue generating businesses : the stock market ("cash equities") and the equity products of the derivatives market ("equity derivatives"). Asian equities are an asset class integral to capital formation for the most dynamic economic region in the world, and therefore critical to investors all over the world. Singapore plays an important role in serving these capital management and allocation needs. Our Business is to provide liquidity and risk management services across the life cycle of a trade : from electronic price-discovery to post-trade clearing and settlement. To that end, the Business has units accountable for product research & engineering, market microstructure, platform innovation, and data analytics.

Our Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities ("FICC") unit is responsible for delivering SGX's business line revenue for bond listings, fixed income trading; foreign exchange (FX), rates (IR) and our full suite of commodities derivative products including iron ore, freight and rubber. The teams are accountable for product strategy to grow volume, market share, innovation, as well as to broaden the FICC footprint and accelerate SGX's multi-asset strategy such as strategic bolt-on investments with BidFX and Cobalt. In addition, the FICC unit has oversight of two SGX wholly-owned subsidiaries, the Energy Market Company (EMC) and The Baltic Exchange. EMC operates Singapore's wholesale electricity market, while the Baltic Exchange is the leader in global shipping indices.

Our Data, Connectivity & Indices ("DCI") Unit offers three business services that facilitate investors' participation in global markets. First, we offer global distribution of data services including transactional information, reference data and news related to trading on SGX. Second, our connectivity solutions facilitate trading and clearing connection into our exchange, with an extended offering of low latency and highly resilient co-location at SGX data center. Third, our Index services include design and creation of SGX proprietary indices as well as bespoke index calculations for global benchmarks and investment funds for Asia and Europe. With the acquisition of Scientific Beta as a subsidiary in January 2020, we strengthened our index offering with deep factor and ESG indexing and research capabilities, supported by teams in Nice, London, Boston and Singapore. The team drives commercial growth of these areas through enhancement and development of new products and solutions. We also forge strategic partnerships and licensing arrangements to actively expand our product shelf in order to meet the evolving needs of the market.

Our Global Sales & Origination ("GSO") unit is our front line sales unit responsible for growing all our business lines. Comprising multi-asset sales coverage teams as well as specialist sales teams and operating from 10 sales offices around the world, GSO is instrumental in contributing to the development of the capital market in Singapore and is at the forefront of fund raising in both equity and debt markets. The sales teams grow our membership and client base across all product and business lines and manage the relationships of our top clients and partners, working closely with them for mutual growth and success. Together with our business teams and our marketing teams, GSO is charged with appropriately positioning SGX in the international marketplace to advance our global brand and presence and ensure that SGX is the key marketplace of choice for diverse international clients.
