Vice President - Senior Core AI Engineer

Job Summary

SGX Group operates Singapore’s securities and derivatives exchange. The Senior Core AI Engineer is a senior individual contributor role within the AI and Digital Experience team, responsible for building and maintaining SGX’s shared AI services and platform infrastructure. This role is the backbone of our AI capabilities, enabling engineers across business units to deliver AI use cases reliably and at scale. This is a Singapore-based role.

Job Responsibilities

• Build and maintain shared and reusable AI services and components
• Design and implement observability and monitoring standards for AI services
• Define APIs, integration patterns, cohesive architecture, and engineering standards
• Provide technical guidance and code review to engineers across business units
• Own technical documentation and governance artefacts for AI use cases
• Lead pre-deployment reviews for medium and high-risk use cases

Job Requirements

• Proven software engineering experience in Python, including system design, code review, and debugging in production environments
• Hands-on experience building applications with LLMs, RAG pipelines, and document processing
• Experience applying data governance and security controls in regulated environments
• Proven ability to make and document architectural decisions with minimal oversight
• Experience designing and maintaining APIs and shared services
• Track record of setting engineering standards and mentoring other engineers

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in financial services or regulated industries
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and Gemini APIs
• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks
• Background in MLOps or AI/ML platform engineering
• Experience with graph databases or vision-language models
