Job Summary

The Global Markets Division (GMD) within SGX Group leads the majority of the organisation’s core business lines, including Equities, Derivatives, Commodities, Indices & Data Services, as well as key subsidiaries such as SGX FX, Energy Market Company, Baltic Exchange, and Scientific Beta.

The GMD Business Management function serves as a strategic partner to the President/Head of GMD and the leadership team, providing governance, performance oversight, and operational control across the division. The function ensures alignment with enterprise priorities while maintaining robust financial, risk, and control frameworks.

Job Responsibilities

 

Reporting to the Head of Business Management, this role contributes at a strategic and enterprise level across four key areas:

 

1. Strategic Business Management

  • Lead management reporting and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and medium-term (3-year) planning processes
  • Oversee performance management frameworks, including target setting and tracking
  • Ensure regulatory reporting obligations are met where applicable
  • Act as risk steward for the division, promoting strong risk awareness and governance
  • Support governance and policy alignment across subsidiaries, joint ventures, and partnerships

2. Governance, Risk & Compliance Oversight

  • Oversee adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements across business units
  • Provide leadership on enterprise risk processes, including outsourcing, risk assessments, incident management, and business continuity planning
  • Ensure effective execution of technology, data protection, and cross-border compliance reviews
  • Maintain robust risk and control self-assessment frameworks and reporting standards

3. Financial Governance & Control

  • Provide oversight of financial performance, including revenue and cost management
  • Ensure compliance with expense and procurement policies
  • Oversee financial close processes, including accruals and billing integrity
  • Support financial governance through attestations, controls, and audit readiness
  • Partner with Finance on key areas such as cost allocation, receivables, and asset management

4. Operational Governance & Control

  • Strengthen middle office controls, including rebates, documentation, and access governance
  • Oversee critical operational processes (e.g. invoicing, onboarding/offboarding) to ensure efficiency and control
  • Act as a key liaison with internal and external auditors
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance control effectiveness and operational scalability

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional qualifications preferred
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in financial services, with strong exposure to markets and/or derivatives being advantageous
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at a strategic level while maintaining attention to detail and execution discipline

Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior leadership and engage across diverse teams and geographies, are critical to success in this role.
