Job Summary

The Senior Vice President, Solution Architecture, is a senior technology leadership role within SGX's Data Engineering function responsible for defining and driving the architecture vision for SGX's enterprise data ecosystem. As a key member of the Data Engineering leadership team, this role will shape the future-state data architecture that supports enterprise data products, data platforms, data services, analytics, and future business growth. The SVP serves as the architecture authority across Data Engineering, partnering closely with business, technology, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, security, and delivery teams to ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with SGX's long-term strategic roadmap.

While the role has no direct people management responsibilities, it carries significant influence across programmes, teams, and stakeholders, driving architectural consistency, technology direction, engineering excellence, and strategic technology decisions across the enterprise data landscape. The role is expected to play a critical part in the Technology transformation and help to ensure a well architecture data ecosystem for SGX's Data Roadmap and the evolution of a trusted, connected enterprise data ecosystem.

Job Responsibilities

Solution Architecture for Data Ecosystems

Define and evolve the target-state architecture for SGX's enterprise data ecosystem, ensuring scalability and alignment with business strategy and long-term growth objectives.
Partner with Data Engineering leadership to shape and execute the data roadmap, platform modernisation strategy, and technology investment priorities.
Evaluate and guide key architectural trade-offs and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and technology strategy.
Lead architecture decisions across data platforms, data products, data models, integrations, APIs, governance, and data access.
Establish architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, and reusable design patterns that drive scalability, resilience, security, and operational efficiency.
Provide architecture leadership across solution discovery, design, implementation governance, and production readiness reviews.
Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards, regulatory requirements, and operational objectives while balancing business value, risk, cost, and maintainability.
Identify technology opportunities that improve data accessibility, interoperability, self-service adoption, and operational efficiency.
Develop transition strategies that modernise legacy platforms, reduce technical debt, and accelerate business value delivery.
Provide hands-on architecture leadership through discovery, framework development, design, review, implementation support, issue resolution, and transition into production, ensuring architecture intent is delivered with quality and discipline.
Bring modern engineering and external market perspective into SGX, applying relevant practices in cloud-native architecture, data platforms, API ecosystems, cyber resilience, automation, observability, and AI-enabled delivery where they create business value.

Technology Innovation & Data Ecosystem Expansion
Drive architecture strategies that enable enterprise data sharing, interoperability, self-service consumption, and ecosystem growth.
Design scalable integration patterns for onboarding new business capabilities, subsidiaries, and external data sources.
Establish architectural foundations that support future data products, data services, and data monetisation opportunities.
Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and architecture approaches, recommending innovations that improve agility, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Bring external industry and engineering perspectives to strengthen SGX's technology capabilities and future-state architecture.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Act as the principal architecture advisor to senior business and technology stakeholders.
Influence architecture outcomes across multiple teams and programmes without direct authority.
Partner closely with Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Product, and Engineering leaders to drive aligned outcomes.
Facilitate architecture reviews, design workshops, and strategic planning discussions.
Mentor engineers and technical leads, fostering architectural excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

Knowledge & Experience:

• Experience: 10+ years of experience in technology, with strong experience in data platform architecture, solution architecture, or senior engineering leadership roles.
• Track record: Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise data platforms and data ecosystems. Strong track record influencing architecture decisions across multiple teams and programmes.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of (1) Enterprise data platforms and modern data architecture, (2) Data products, data models, data services, APIs, and integration patterns, (3) Cloud-native platforms and distributed systems, (4) Event-driven and streaming architectures, (5) Data governance, metadata, lineage, and access management, (6) Platform engineering, DevSecOps, observability, resilience, and security, (7)Enterprise integration and hybrid architectures
• Communication & leadership: Strong architecture judgement with the ability to balance business outcomes, technology strategy, risk, resilience, cost, and delivery speed. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the credibility to engage senior executives, engineers, architects, security, operations, vendors, and consultants. Ability to communicate complex technology concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Education & certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; relevant certifications or postgraduate

• Experience in financial services, exchanges, capital markets, banking, fintech, or other regulated industries is highly desirable.
