Quality Assurance and Testing

Short overview on the Unit/Team

The MaxxTrader Quality Engineering team is responsible for assuring the quality, reliability, performance and security of the MaxxTrader trading platform and its related applications, including AdminMonitor, MaxxWeb, MaxxGO and backend services. The team works closely with Product, Development and DevOps throughout the software delivery lifecycle, using automated regression testing, API and integration testing, performance testing and release validation.

 

Learning Outcomes

• Gain practical experience in software quality engineering for a real-time electronic trading platform.

• Learn how to analyze requirements, identify test scenarios, prepare test data and design clear, traceable test cases.

• Build hands-on experience in functional, regression, API, integration and user-interface test automation.

• Understand defect lifecycle management, root-cause analysis and effective reporting using logs, screenshots and test evidence.

• Learn how automated tests are integrated into CI/CD pipelines and executed for release validation.

• Work in an Agile engineering team and participate in sprint planning, daily discussions, reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.

 

Job Description
• Assist in reviewing product requirements and acceptance criteria for MaxxTrader features.

• Design, document and execute test scenarios for frontend, backend, API and integration workflows.

• Develop and maintain stable automated tests under guidance, using appropriate tools and existing team frameworks.

• Validate test results, investigate failures and raise well-documented defects in JIRA with reproducible steps and supporting evidence.

• Support regression testing, release-candidate validation and post-deployment checks in QA and demo environments.

• Prepare reusable test data and help improve test coverage, reliability and maintainability.

• Collaborate with SDET team, Development, Product and DevOps team members to clarify expected behaviour and resolve issues. 

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements 

• MUST be pursuing a diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.

• MUST have a basic understanding of software testing concepts, the software development lifecycle and defect management.

• MUST have basic programming or scripting knowledge in at least one language such as Java, Python, JavaScript or Shell.

• MUST demonstrate logical thinking, attention to detail, curiosity and a willingness to learn.

• MUST be able to communicate clearly in English and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, SQL, REST APIs, Git and Linux is preferred.

• Exposure to test automation tools or frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, QFTest, Postman, JMeter or similar tools is advantageous.

• Awareness of Agile practices, CI/CD concepts, Jenkins, financial markets or FX trading is beneficial but not required.
