Market Operations

Brief Overview

The Market Operations team is the core business unit in EMC that provides operational resource and support to the Singapore electricity wholesale market, the National Electricity Market of Singapore (NEMS).

The team is responsible for fulfilling the market operation obligations of EMC in accordance with the market rules, which includes performing and presenting analysis of market outcomes, support settlement operation duties and risk management, provision of market performance reporting and routine data request, administration of standing data, managing data subscription, and improving business operation processes.

Learning Objectives

The selected intern will help understand and document the process of inputting market participants’ credit support into the system. In addition, the intern will support the updating of key operations dashboards and the preparation of required reports.

Job Description

The selected intern will support the maintenance and enhancement of existing operations Power BI dashboards and reports. Key responsibilities will include improving dashboard layout and user experience, as well as automating data import processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Strong analytical skills and meticulous in work

• Good communications skills (spoken and written)

• Highly proficient in MS Office, VBA and Power BI
