  • SGROA Commodities Sales
  • Capital Markets Intern – Debt & Equity Capital Markets
  • Capital Markets Intern – Healthcare, Industrials, Enterprise Tech
  • FO, Energy, Infra, Sustainability
     

SGROA - Commodities Sales

Brief Overview:
The Commodities Sales team is responsible for sales and distribution of SGX’s suite of commodities products and manage relationships with clients.

The intern will be able to: 

  • Gain a high level of understanding of commodities businesses of SGX and the commodities industry landscape in the region and beyond.
  • Sharpen their research and analysis skill and comes up with new marketing insights.
  • Participate in SGX commodities marketing events.
  • Prepare themselves for a role in commodities or financial services sectors, including but not limited to research & analysis and marketing.


Job Description:
The intern will primarily support Commodities sales team in their marketing and business development efforts, including but not limited to:

  • Research and analysis: Download the latest commodities news from Blomberg and share it with the team for their information and analysis. Assist the team with competitor and market trend analysis by providing insights such as e.g. volume analysis and contract specifications differentiations.
  • Pre-sales & Post-sales: Assist to enhance the monthly sales presentation or marketing collateral by incorporating engaging graphs, data, and useful information. He or she may have to assist the team with meeting notes and prepare information required for follow ups.
  • Event support: Support the planning and logistics of marketing events (e.g. seminars, webinars, etc.).
  • Ad hoc request: Ad hoc request that the team receives, as well as other assignments and administrative matters as required by the team (e.g. create/ update internal database/ files and periodic internal reports)


Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Commit to the agreed period of internship.  
  • Have a good command of English, both written and oral. Be able to read, write and speak Chinese is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Bloomberg and MS Office applications(e.g. MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint), including advanced functions such as pivot tables, incorporating data visualization with charts and diagrams, and mastering presentation design principles for a polished look
  • Be detail-oriented, and numerically literate.
  • Be able to multitask and work independently and adhere to deadlines.
  • Must be able to commit to the agreed period of internship.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Must be a finance or related major degree holder
  • Past internship experience in commodities trading or financial institutions is preferred, but not a requirement.

Capital Markets Intern – Healthcare, Industrials, Enterprise Tech

Brief Overview:
The Capital Markets team develops and executes strategies to (i) promote SGX as a venue for fund raising via listing of equity or debt securities, (ii) build relationships with SGX listed companies and pre-listing aspirants, and (iii) engage key investor groups including family offices, venture capital and private equity funds.


What the intern can learn during the internship:
The skills and exposure from this internship could prepare the intern for a future career in financial services in the area of corporate/investment banking, equity research and/or marketing of financial services.

The intern will be exposed to various sectors/products/support that the Capital Markets team covers and provides, as well as gain insights to Singapore capital markets, in particular equity and debt securities. The intern will also have opportunities to support the team in client management involving SGX listed companies and institutional clients.

Besides having the networking opportunities with market participants through corporate events and meetings, there may also be opportunities to work with other SGX departments through projects/company events.


Job Description:
For this role, the intern will primarily focus on marketing and business/product development efforts in equity capital markets (ECM), where the intern will assist the team in the following:

  • Create/update internal database/files, periodic internal report
  • Prepare pitch decks, meeting briefs and minutes
  • Conduct desktop research on market and industry as well as gather and analyse information/data for team's marketing/strategy development efforts (e.g. research on opportunities, leads, targets identification etc)
  • Support the team's engagement with stakeholders (e.g. companies, equity/bond issuers, market professionals, government agencies, investors, family offices etc)
  • Support the team in organising marketing/corporate/client engagement events (both virtual and physical) and post-event activities (eg social media) 
  • Other assignments as required by the team, and ad hoc requests that the team receives

For a more holistic experience, the intern will also be given the opportunity to support the team on marketing and business/product development efforts in the area of debt capital markets and corporate institutional clients engagements.

  • Have a good command of English, both written and oral
  • Be able to read, write and speak Chinese
  • Be comfortable and proficient in MS Office applications, including MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint as well as social media and other media applications
  • Be detail-oriented, and numerically literate
  • Be able to multi-task and work independently, and adhere to deadlines

Capital Markets Intern – Debt and Equity Capital Markets

Brief Overview:
The Capital Markets team develops and executes strategies to (i) promote SGX as a venue for fund raising via listing of equity or debt securities, (ii) build relationships with SGX listed companies and pre-listing aspirants, and (iii) engage key investor groups including family offices, venture capital and private equity funds.


What the intern can learn during the internship:
The exposure from this internship will prepare you for a future career in financial services, in areas including corporate/investment banking, equity research and sales/marketing.

You will be exposed to various sectors and products that the Capital Markets team covers, as well as gain insights into Singapore capital markets, in particular the equity and debt capital markets. You will also support the team in client relationship management as well as the planning and execution of events.

Besides having networking opportunities with market participants through corporate events and meetings, you will also have opportunities to work with other SGX departments through projects and company events.


Job Description:
For this role, the intern will primarily focus on marketing as well as business and product development efforts in debt capital markets (DCM) and equity capital markets (ECM). The intern will assist the team in the following:

  • Conduct desktop research on market and industry trends, and data analysis using financial information tools (e.g. Bloomberg and Dealogic)
  • Prepare regular market and business updates or reports, and maintain internal databases
  • Prepare marketing presentations and other sales materials as well as meeting briefs
  • Support the planning and execution of events and activities, including listing ceremonies, industry conferences and seminars 
  • Support the team’s engagement with stakeholders, including listed companies, bond and equity issuers, market professionals, government agencies and investors
  • Other assignments as required by the team, including ad hoc requests that the team receives

For a more holistic experience, the intern will also be given the opportunity to be involved with corporate client and family office engagement efforts, as well as activities organized by SGListCos (association for all listed companies).  


Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
The successful candidate must:

  • Obtain a Leave of Absence (LOA) from their university, and be available for 6 months from early July 2025 to early January 2026
  • Have a good command of English, both written and oral
  • Be detail oriented and numerate, and have a strong interest in capital markets
  • Have strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak Chinese would be preferred
