Global Sales Origination (GSO) Internship Programme
We have available roles in the following teams:
1. Debt Capital Markets (1 vacancy)
2. Equity Capital Markets (1 vacancy)
3. MOG, Listco, Family Offices (1 vacancy)

Debt Capital Markets

Brief Overview:
Part of the Global Sales & Origination (GSO) business unit, the Capital Markets team develops and executes strategies to (i) promote SGX as a venue for fund raising (via listing of equity or debt securities) and (ii) build relationships with SGX listed companies and institutional clients.
 

Learning Objectives:
The skills and exposure from this internship will prepare you for a future career in financial services, in areas including corporate/investment banking, equity research and sales/marketing.
The intern will be exposed to various sectors and products that the Capital Markets team covers, as well as gain insights into Singapore capital markets, in particular equity and debt securities. The intern will also have opportunities to support the team in relationship management with SGX listed companies and institutional clients.

Besides networking opportunities with market participants through corporate events and meetings, there may also be opportunities to work with other SGX departments through projects and company events.


Job Description:
For this role, the intern will primarily focus on marketing and business/product development efforts in debt capital markets (DCM), where the intern will assist the team in the following:-

  • Conduct market research and data analysis using financial information tools (e.g. Bloomberg and Dealogic)
  • Prepare regular market and business updates or reports, and maintain internal databases
  • Prepare and update marketing presentations and other sales materials
  • Support the planning and logistics of events and activities, such as virtual/physical seminars and listing ceremonies
  • Support the team's engagement with stakeholders, including listed companies, bond issuers, market professionals, government agencies, investors, family offices
  • Other assignments as required by the team, including ad hoc requests that the team receives
  • For a more holistic experience, the intern will also be given the opportunity to support the team on marketing and business/product development efforts in the areas of equity capital markets as well as coverage of SGX listed companies and institutional clients.
     

Knowledge and Skills requirements:
Have a good command of English, both written and oral
Be comfortable and proficient in MS Office applications, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Be detail-oriented and numerate
Have strong attention to detail and good communication skills


 

Equity Capital Markets

Brief Overview:
The Capital Markets team develops and executes strategies to (i) promote SGX as a venue for fund raising (via listing of equity or debt securities) and (ii) build relationships with SGX listed companies and institutional clients (“Corporate & Institutional Clients”).


Learning Objectives:
The skills and exposure from this internship could prepare you for a future career in financial services in the area of corporate/investment banking, equity research and/or marketing of financial services.

The intern will be exposed to various sectors/products/support that the Capital Markets team covers and provides, as well as gain insights to Singapore capital markets, in particular equity and debt securities. There intern will also have opportunities to support the team in the client management relationship involving SGX listed companies and institutional clients.

Besides having the networking opportunities with market participants through corporate events and meetings, there may also be opportunities to work with other SGX departments through projects/company events.
 

Job Description:

For this role, the intern will primarily focus on marketing and business/product development efforts in equity capital markets (ECM), where the intern will assist the team in the following:

  • Create/update internal database/ files, periodic internal report
  • Prepare pitch deck, meeting briefs and minutes
  • Market and industry research as well as gather and analyse information/data for team's marketing/strategy development efforts (e.g. research on opportunities, leads, target identification)
  • Support the team's engagement with stakeholders (e.g. companies, bond issuers, market professionals, government agencies, investors, family office etc)
  • Support the team in organising marketing/corporate/client engagement events (both virtual and physical) and post-event activity (eg social media)
  • Other assignments as required by the team, and ad hoc requests that the team receives
  • For a more holistic experience, the intern will also be given the opportunity to support the team on marketing and business/product development efforts in the area of debt capital markets and corporate institutional clients engagements.
     

Knowledge and Skills requirements:

  • Must commit to the agreed period of internship
  • Have a good command of English, both written and oral
  • Be able to read, write and speak Chinese
  • Be comfortable and proficient in MS Office applications, including MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint as well as social media and other media applications
  • Be detail-oriented, and numerically literate
  • Be able to multitask and work independently, and adhere to deadlines

MOG, Listco, Family Offices

Brief Overview:
The Capital Markets team develops and executes strategies to (i) promote SGX as a venue for fund raising via listing of equity or debt securities, (ii) build relationships with SGX listed companies, institutional clients including the key Family Office and Asset Owner segments and listing prospects, and (iii) assist to manage the secretariat for SGListCos, the association for all SGX listed companies.


Learning Objectives:
The exposure from this internship could prepare you for a future career in financial services for example corporate/investment banking, equity research and/or marketing of financial services.

You will cover the sectors/products/support that the Capital Markets team provides, as well as gain insights to Singapore capital markets, in particular equity and debt securities. You will also support the team in the client relationship management and events. 

You will also create content via social media as SGListCos strengthens its digital and on-line presence.  

Besides having networking opportunities with market participants through corporate events and meetings, you will also work with other SGX departments.

 

Job Description:

As an intern, you will:

  • Assist with client engagements, market research and content development.
  • You will accompany the team for any engagements and support any events.  
  • Prepare and update marketing presentations, briefs and sales materials.  
  • This includes collecting and analyzing data from a variety of sources, including Bloomberg, BD Corporate, DealLogic, equity research, desktop searches and from financial disclosures.
  • Support the planning and logistics of marketing events (e.g., seminars, roundtables, etc.), including physical and virtual formats and preparing social media updates.
  • Assist with market segmentation, targeted invitations and follow ups.
  • Stakeholders include listed and pre-IPO company C-suite, the secretariat for SGListCos (association for all listed companies), market professionals & intermediaries, and also regulators.  
  • Assist with other activities as necessary.

 

Knowledge and Skills requirements:

  • Start by early July.
  • End first week January or later.
  • Be able to create content on social media.
  • Generate fresh design ideas for presentation slides.
  • Have a good command of English, both written and oral.
  • Be able to read, write and speak Chinese.
  • Have interest in capital markets.
