Securities Market & Depository

Short overview on the Unit/Team

The Global Markets Division is responsible for growing revenue and liquidity of the entire continuum of Equities, Derivatives and Commodities products, including SGX subsidiaries. It comprises various teams – Equities, Derivatives, FX, Commodities, Markets Platforms.

This internship is within the Securities Market & Depository team of the Equities unit, which is responsible for the Depository business of SGX and the development of SGX Investor Portal and Mobile app. Within the Depository business, the team is in charge of the planning and development of the suite of Depository products and value added online services to increase participation in our marketplace by our listed companies, corporate and individual investors and traders as well as depository agents and brokers.

What the intern can learn during the internship

This intern position will be providing support to the Securities Market & Depository team within Equities unit. He/She will receive hands-on exposure to and experience with:

• Understanding Singapore capital market and competitive landscape
• Strategic marketing, product planning, development and execution of financial products/services launches/events to companies and individuals
• Marketing analytics, measurements and tracking
• Involvement in online/social marketing, UX design and development of online content on websites and mobile app
• Stakeholder management and engagement, including development of content, execution and delivery of marketing materials
• Relationship building across different business units, vendors and stakeholder groups
• Data driven decision making

Job Description

• Assist in the coordination of initiatives involving internal and external stakeholders, including user journey tracking, data analysis and UX design on websites & mobile app
• Assist in defining adoption strategy for mobile app using data driven decisions
• Support manager in operationalising and maintaining web content, marketing plans, user guides, FAQs and managing queries with internal units and vendors
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing for new feature launches
• Assist in database and marketing budget management
• Any other business projects and activities as needed

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

1. Good communication skills (both written and spoken) in English
2. Familiar and comfortable with Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
3. Knowledge of investing is an advantage; bonus if candidate has invested in stocks or bonds
4. Interest and background in product planning, website and mobile app development, user experience design, marketing and service management
5. Meticulous and responsible, takes ownership of assignments and can work independently
6. Ability to multitask
7. Willingness to learn multiple discipline (e.g. customer experience, product planning and marketing)
8. Experience / interest in basic programming (e.g. Python) is a plus
