Job Summary
This HR Business Partner (HRBP) role will act as a strategic and operational partner to the Operations & Technology unit at SGX, with a focus on supporting the Operations functions. The role involves supporting business leaders across core operational functions within a financial market infrastructure environment. In this role, you will partner closely with leaders across securities, derivatives, index, customer relations, and account management operations, providing pragmatic and commercially grounded HR advice.
This is a hands-on, business-facing HRBP role requiring strong credibility with operations leaders, a solid understanding of regulated financial services environments, and the ability to translate business realities into effective people strategies. The role balances strategic workforce advisory with operational HR delivery and is well suited for an experienced HRBP operating at AVP level.
Job Responsibilities

Strategic HR Partnership
- Partner Operations leaders to align people strategies with business and operational objectives.
- Provide advisory support on workforce planning, organization design, succession planning and talent deployment.
- Support leadership teams through business changes, operating model adjustments and transformation initiatives.
- Act as a trusted sounding board to senior Operations stakeholders on people and organizational matters.
Business & Operations Enablement
- Develop a working understanding of the Operations landscape, including securities business operations, derivatives business operations, index operations, customer relations services and account management services.
- Translate operational requirements, regulatory considerations and risk sensitivities into practical HR solutions.
- Support Operations leaders in building resilient teams with the right skills, capacity and structure.
Talent Management & Acquisition
- Partner hiring managers on end-to-end recruitment for operations roles, ensuring talent quality, timeliness and alignment to business needs.
- Provide market insights on talent availability, skill demand and compensation benchmarks.
- Work closely with Compensation & Benefits to ensure offers are competitive and aligned with internal frameworks.
- Support broader talent initiatives including talent reviews, succession planning and capability development.
Employee Relations & Manager Advisory
- Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters within Operations, ensuring fair, consistent and risk-aware handling.
- Advise managers on performance management, disciplinary matters, grievances and employee engagement topics.
- Coach managers on people management practices, leadership effectiveness and team development.
Governance, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure HR practices and people decisions comply with employment legislation, internal policies and regulatory expectations of a financial institution.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews and internal assurance activities relating to HR processes.
- Provide clear, audit-safe HR advice, balancing employee experience with risk and compliance considerations.
HR Programs, Analytics & Projects
- Deliver annual HR cycles including performance management, merit review, engagement surveys and talent reviews for Operations.
- Analyse workforce and people metrics to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to or lead HR projects relevant to Operations, process improvements or enterprise initiatives.
Job Requirements
- 7-10 years of progressive HR experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a full-fledged HRBP role, supporting line functions.
- Prior experience supporting an Operations team within a financial institution is required.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience supporting one or more of the following is strongly preferred: Securities Business Operations, Derivatives Business Operations, Index Operations, Customer Relations Services, Account Management Services.
- Strong grounding in employee relations, recruitment, performance management and HR advisory work.
- Experience operating in regulated and risk-sensitive environments.
