AVP/VP, Test Engineer

Job Summary

SGX is hiring Senior Test Engineers in multiple domains, each covering several in-house and vendor build platforms. In collaboration with the wider test team, the candidate translates SGX’s quality vision into scalable automation capabilities, governance frameworks, delivery guardrails, and leadership that strengthen release confidence, operational resilience, and risk management. As a Senior Test Engineer, the candidate develops junior test engineers, ensures consistent tools, processes and reporting across domains, and advances responsible AI adoption to improve engineering productivity, team effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities

• Together with the wider test team, define and lead the enterprise test and quality engineering strategy across multiple products, platforms, and transformation programmes, with accountability for quality outcomes, delivery assurance, and risk-based test coverage.
• Oversee, define, and continuously enhance scalable automation platforms, standards, and engineering practices spanning functional, API, integration, performance, and resilience testing.
• In collaboration with the wider test team, improve and govern quality operating frameworks, including test methodology, test data strategy, control traceability, release quality gates, and execution standards.
• Together with the wider test team regularly re-evaluate testing tools against best practices, cloud-based test infrastructure, observability, and AI-enabled engineering practices to improve productivity, defect prevention, and feedback loops across the delivery lifecycle.
• Provide clear executive-level visibility of quality performance, delivery risks, workforce capability, and investment priorities.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, or related disciplines, including at least 5 years in leadership roles managing large-scale testing or quality engineering organisations.
• Experience in capital markets, particularly within Securities, Derivatives, Market Data, or related trading and post-trade systems, will be an added advantage.
• Develop thorough, well-structured test scenarios that maximize coverage and minimize risk of undetected defects.
• Deep expertise in modern quality engineering principles, including automation-first delivery, platform consistency, risk-based coverage, and enterprise-scale testing practices.
• Proven track record of owning quality outcomes and leading test governance across multiple teams or programmes, including test architecture reviews, automation standards, quality gates, and defect governance.
• Strong people leadership experience, with demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams, and coaching practitioners.
• Advanced expertise in modern test automation, performance engineering, and test data tooling, including technologies such as Claude Code or similar AI tools, Tosca, Playwright and Esprow.
• Open mindset and eager to improve existing processes to boost productivity in collaboration with others
• Customer driven mindset, looking beyond requirements and contributing to great products
• Hands-on experience implementing cloud-based test infrastructure and CI/CD quality controls using platforms such as GitHub Actions and AWS CodeBuild.
• Practical understanding of AI-enabled engineering practices.
• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and articulate quality risks, trade-offs, and investment priorities in a clear and credible manner.
